My name is Mohd Shafiq Bin Mohd Kassim. I am 26 years old. I am married, my wife name is Nurulhidayah Binti Nurudin. I was born in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. I am confident, fast learner, honest, charismatic and ambitious person. I have positive attitude, I am well-disciplined and highly motivated with a strong desire to excel. I have been always the ambitious person with big dreams. My life was very simple, like the rest of the people in Malaysia.
My primary and secondary school were also in my hometown. My primary school was Sekolah Kebangsaan Rahang. Later, I studied at Sekolah Menengah Agama Dato’ Klana Petra Maamor from Form 1 until Form 3 and after that, I took my SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Haji Mohd Said at Seremban.
While enjoying in the benefits that life offers to us, we are not conscious that time is passing by and in one moment we are already grown up, and a lot of commitments are now our responsibility. When I think about the future, there are some mixed emotions who rule whit me. I feel a little scared because I know that my responsibility is to make some important decisions about my future. One of them is the decision of continuing with my education after finishing secondary school. Later I got offer to further for the next stage of my study in International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM). Now, I am an accounting graduate from the same University, IIUM. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Honours) last 2 years in 2007.
In my opinion, after graduation, the most important decision to make is choosing your profession by yourself or continuing your studies either to take professional or master studies. So whatever I choose it will because I like that and because of my own wishes, not forced by my parents or the surrounding. At these moments, my plans are connected with accounting studies, because I really enjoy learning the subjects; it is interesting and keeps me motivated to learn and improve in that area. I am convinced that I would not have any particular problems for my future education, because of my ambition and the fact that I do not give up from things easily. As my friends want to call me a fighter!
After I finish university, I tried to get a good job and develop my carrier. My current position is Accounts and Administration Executive at Chalpoint (M) Sdn. Bhd., a PETRONAS licensed engineering services company incorporated to serve the Malaysian Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Electrical Power industries. The company also assigned me as a Quality Management Representative and as the QMR, I have the full for ensuring that the Quality Management System is established, implemented and maintained at all levels in the company.
My second last position was as Accounts Executive at ZELAN Construction Arabia Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of ZELAN BERHAD which is located in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras. I have been assigned to Shuqaiq Independent Water Power Plant and Desalination Plant project at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from October 2007 until December 2008. I have earned and obtained a very good opportunities and valuable experiences while working in this Company. I am very grateful to have the privilege of working with this Company. My objective in career is to obtain a good position which offers a professional working environment that enable me to grow while meeting the corporation goals and utilize financial knowledge and skills in acquiring creative and innovative approaches towards problem solving, strategy development and related field. Therefore, I look myself as independent person, able to work under pressure, ability to work in team, highly organized and dedicated to my work.
Obviously, I am planning to continue upgrading my knowledge by taking professional studies in ACCA, and then later, I would like to take master studies in Forensic Accounting. I am hoping that those studies will help me for my better future and that thanks to them I will have more possibilities for better career. When I am going to finish my studies and have master degree, I will then start to look for a job, first in my country where I am planning to contribute for better economy and better conditions for living for our people. If my plans come true I will continue to looking for job outside the borders of my country again. The only reason for doing this is because the world has many new things and techniques which can be useful for improving the economy in my country. I have many plans and dreams for better future that I hope one day will come true.
In couple of years I see myself in some foreign country including my home country, working as an accountant or teach accounting studies. While working and after finishing my professional career I would like to travel in a lot of countries and learn more about different types of cultures. I would also like to go to undeveloped countries and give help to lots of people who are hungry and who do not have enough fund to take care about themselves and about their families. Especially, I want to help them to improve their knowledge and education. I want to visit lots of developed countries from which I can learn very useful things related to better living, getting higher level of knowledge about what is good behavior and improving social skills, and after that to transmit that knowledge to the people in my country.
On the other hand when I am thinking about my past, I feel very good because I had spent very interesting childhood with the people who are still my best friends. Next, my dream to have happy living family and good place to live, nice house and to be able to achieve my goals to give my family the life they disserve. Everything that I have experienced in my life until this moment is a good lesson for tomorrow. I really hope that my dreams will become reality, and I would contribute for my country and my people.
My life motto is future belongs to those who believe in their dreams. But the most important thing is to concentrate on the present, because the present brings results in the future. 10 years from now I see myself wiser and filed with experiences. I do not expect that everything is going to turn out just like the way I planed. I am aware that there are wins but also defeats. All efforts and dreams are depends on Almighty God, Allah desire and plan. Allah is the One helping us finding the hope and strength we need to go on with our lives.
